Hello fellow members and watchers of the #Dark-Egg-Legion!  If you are reading this, welcome to our groups guide to the chatroom!  We the admins felt we wanted to go one step beyond some of the other Sonic the Hedgehog groups on deviantART by providing our members a chatroom where they can talk with other members.  By going this extra step we hope that our members can not only make new friends but to also learn about more about the group in general.

We would like to first start off with what can be discussed in the chatroom since we do know that touchy subjects might not be appropriate for the chatroom.  Please no discussion on political, sexual or religious beliefs or views.  We find that these types of discussions can get WAY out of hand and can cause a lot of fracturing within the group so please we ask for these not to be brought up.  Acceptable discussion can include general life, discussions about the comics, hobbies and many other general items that are fine to talk about.  Remember that some discussion items may be difficult to understand as each member is of a different age group or background, please be respectable about that.

With roleplaying in the chatroom, we have separate rules for roleplaying since they require a different set of rules.  We ask for ALL members to read the roleplay rules careful and remember them since we want to keep the roleplays under control.  Those not following the rules will get warnings and after several warning will face consequences.  We want to keep the roleplays tamed so that our members don’t feel uncomfortable when joining in.

General Chatroom Discussion Rules
Respect your fellow members!
No flaming or harassing the other members or admins.
Please, no political, sexual or religious discussion in the chatroom, those should be kept privately so that no one is offended.
If something is too personal to say, don’t say it.  You don’t need to talk about something personal if you are uncomfortable.
No mini-modding, leave the modding to the admins of the chatroom
Keep the chatroom a comfortable place, we want all our members to feel welcomed in here, not make it into a hostile environment.


General Chatroom Roleplay Rules
The chatroom is run on a very easy system that is balanced.  You have the "Grandmasters" who are the overall bosses/owners of the chatroom, they usually overlook everything going on with the chatroom.  If there's a problem, your best bet is to talk to one of them if they are present.  Next there are the "Kommissars and Commanders" who, while not having as much power as the Grandmasters, still have the power to kick and ban members if they are breaking rules.  They act like mini mods in the chatroom when the Grandmasters aren't present and if any problem occur when the Grandmasters aren't around, bring it up to them.  Lastly you got the "Legionnaires/Guest" who are basically our members of the group who have the basic controls that come with any chatroom.

First ask members in the chatroom if they want to roleplay.  Sometimes there will be days that members might not want to roleplay but rather just talk, please be respectful about that.  
Do not harass a member or admin into roleplaying with you even after they said no, it’s rude.
Do not force upon your ideas for a roleplay plot.  The plot should be agreed on by all members or admins present in the group so that it’s fair for everyone and give everyone’s character an equal chance.
Do not drive the roleplay.  Driving the roleplay is when one person tries to drive the plot to focus on their characters and not the others characters present.  All the characters deserve equal spotlight in any roleplay.
No godmodding!  Godmodding mean when you make your character so strong that they can’t be taken down or beaten by the other character in the roleplay.  This is poor roleplaying etiquette and will not be acceptable in the chatroom.
Do not roleplay as someone’s else character.
Do not go out of turn.  Once you post, you wait for all the other people partaking in the roleplay to put their response in.

The Consequences
As mentioned, members caught breaking these rules will face consequences of their actions. Below is the system that will be used for any members breaking the rules, whether it’s the general rules or the roleplay rules.  

Any member breaking any of the general or roleplay rules will receive a public warning.
If any members continuing to break more or the same rules will get additional warnings, all members get 3 warnings per session.
If any member manages to get 3 warnings in a session, they are kicked from the chatroom for that day.
If any member gets kicked out of 3 sessions they are given a 1 week temporary ban.
If a member continues to break rules and is repetitively kicked/banned from the chatroom, admins will take action and a permanent ban will be placed depending on the severity of the situation.
While this may seem harsh we feel that by doing this that it will give our members a chance to learn from their actions and to make sure that they follow the chatroom’s rules.    By creating this warning system we hope that our member will follow the rules to avoid being temporarily kicked or banned form the chatroom.

More rules will be added and edited as time goes on but these are the basic rules for the chatroom.  We made sure they are simple so that our members won’t have a difficult time reading the rules.  If you have any problems in the chatroom and an admin isn't present, please note the group and give us details on what happened.
